40References were made during the Callington sesqui centenary celebrations to his appointment as teacher of the Callington School in 1862. He married Elizabeth Anna Penhall at Mount Barker Wesleyan Mission House on 14/11/1860. An extract from a newspaper in the Archives recorded the wedding. She was the third daughter of Captain William Penhall. Welliam moved to Moonta, where in 1873 he taught at Moonta Mines ??? 1874 East Moonta. He also preached for many years in this area (Primitive Methodist). His brother Thomas who was his best man lived at Callington as a chemist and importer.

William Wiltshire. Leaving widow and three sons. Rev W. T. Wiltshire Claredon, Mr.D.E.Wiltshire of Broken Hill, Mr George Wiltshire of Harvey WA. Three daughters Mrs. A. Leaves WA, Mrs H Macklin Walkerville, Mrs F Robins Norwood. Mr Clement Baron of Broken Hill, Mr Charles Baron of Prospect, Stepsons.15
